When adding a new or modifying an existing item, note that there are a number of tabs going across the top of the screen. Select the Preferences tab to view the settings, as below:

Instruction
Instruction items are primarily used in situations with a kitchen where common customer requests like 'no tomato' or 'medium rare' are needed. These items behave differently to regular items that you sell, and so this tickbox should be ticked.

Disable Points
If this option is enabled, then no loyalty points will be given out for the purchase of this item. For more details about customer accounts and the point system, see the relevant section of this guide.

Scale Item and Scale Range
Please see the scale article for more details on these settings.

Non Discount
Ticking this box will ensure that you always charge the same amount for this item, regardless of any discounts.

Age Restricted
This setting will make a popup alert appear whenever you try to sell this item, reminding the sales staff to check the purchaser's date of birth.
